Schmolze Woodworks recently finished this fully custom kitchen in Boston’s Back Bay area. Cabinets and all the doors were built by hand in my shop. I spent two days drawing up every detail of this kitchen to scale and everything went together like a dream.

Doors are built from 5/4″ soft Maple featuring mortise and tenon construction and 1/2″ solid pine floating panels with a reverse raise.
Upper doors are true divided light – meaning individual panes of frosted glass are captured behind individually mitered stops on the back side.

Quite the interesting experience working in Boston in close quarters on the third floor of an 80 unit building. There were numerous challenges from permitting, to the condo board requiring 48 hours notice to shut off the water, to inspections. But this job is signed, sealed and delivered to another satisfied customer!
