A Schmolze Woodworks design & build! The most dramatic change was in taking the cabinets all the way up to the rafters, making for a ton of long-term storage and a bold cool statement. Somehow it still manages to feel more spacious than the old kitchen, despite the added cabinetry and the island.

This kitchen was built from scratch in my shop using the highest grade materials. Red Birch and Spalted Maple were sourced from a small mill in VT to build the island.

The painted kitchen features soft maple frames, with solid full piece maple drawer sides, joined with a simple yet attractive and very strong box joint.

Heavy duty pantry pullouts were sourced from Germany, as well as the blind inside corner articulating pullout trays.

The old microwave over the range was converted to a microwave drawer, which allowed room for a real range hood. This hood is zinc and was made in my shop to enclose an Imperial insert.

Zinc countertops were formed in my shop on the brake and soldered at the corners.

A nice classic kitchen!
